2010 Colorado Elections Rumor Page

Keep an eye on this often as it will likely change greatly before the 2010 elections actually get here.

US Senate
Incumbent Ken Salazar (D) has been appointed by
Pres. Obama to be Sec. of Interior.
Michael Bennet (Appointee) Appointed to replace
Salazar but has never run for office. Could potentially
face a primary and a very difficult general.
Potential 2010 challengers:
Andrew Romanoff (fmr Speaker of House) May be to
much of a "party guy" to challenge the appointed
incumbent
Tom Tancredo former Congressman - is now putting
up his hand for everything, and at the moment the
only GOP in the air for Senator. Suthers and McGinnis
both told the press they will not be seeking it.
Ken Buck District Attorney. Reported planning an
announcement soon
CD1
Diana DeGette (Incumbent)
Her seat until she decides otherwise
CD2
Jared Polis (Incumbent)
Should have no trouble with re-election. Safe blue seat
CD3
John Salazar (Incumbent)
There will be a GOP challenge, the questions is how
serious of one.
Josh Penry State Rep. Considered a rising star of the
party.
Al White State Sen. Would be mid-term and could run
without risking Senate seat.
CD4
Betsy Markey (Incumbent)
Thought of as a safe red district, but even the GOP
couldn't stomach Musgrave anymore. Markey will have
to work all that much extra to hold this one.
Cory Gardner State Rep. Actively setting up a
campaign
Tom Lucero CU Regent. Has filed to be a candidate.
Kevin Brophy State Sen. Said to be considering it
Bob Shaffer Former Congressman. Has been
suggested he wants his old job back.
Ken Buck District Attorney. Now that Suthers is
running again for AG, Ken may be looking this way.
CD5
Doug Lamborn (incumbent)
Will GOP get only one person to challenge him in a
primary this time? Otherwise safe red district
CD6
Mike Coffman (Incumbent)
David Canter Announced candidate
John Furlage Announced candidate
Coffman's until he wants to do something else
CD7
Ed Perlmutter (Incumbent)
Brian Campbell Never heard of him, but he has a
website.
Ed has won re-election quite easily, but GOP hasn't
really tried either.
