King George I

To ensure the British Throne would remain in the hands of
Protestants, Parliament passed the Act of Settlement in 1705
who banned any Catholic or anyone married to a Catholic from
succeeding to the Throne.  The poeple who have any claim to
the Throne was later limited to the descendants of the Electress
Sophia of Hanover, a granddaughter of King James I who was
the next Protestant heiress after Queen Anne. As fate would
have it Anne outlived Sophia by 2 weeks so the Throne then
passed to Sophia's eldest son, King George I.
The Descendants of King George I of Great Britain
compiled by Daniel A. Willis

This was a book I published in 2002 which sought to list all descendants of King
George to the present day. Of course it was outdated before it even came off of the
presses since there continue to be births, marriages and deaths, among the
thousands of descendants on nearly a daily basis.

Now that the book has ceased publication, I am slowly putting all that detail
available on the internet. Once done it will allow me to keep updating the
information as news comes to me regarding the descendants.

There are a couple of caveats: some of these descendants overlap my already
existing website of the descendants of Empress Maria Theresia. In these cases,
you will be linked to those pages rather than having to update the info in two
locations.  Also, those people who are descended from Emperor Nicholas I of
Russia will not be included here. I am in the process of writing a book for
publication about he Romanov family with an emphasis on their present day lives.

I will slug my way through getting the George I descendants on line as quickly as I
am able, I do expect it to take me a few months, so please be patient and feel free
to check back often.  If you see any errors or ommisions, please let me know:
